The Professional Administrative Awards is the first program of its kind honoring the administrative assistants in Dallas/Fort Worth. The awards luncheon, being held on October 9, 2012 at The Westin Galleria in Dallas, will recognize administrative professionals in 8 categories including The Colleen Barrett Award for Administrative Excellence, the top award honoring the professional who embodies the 'spirit' and proficiency of perhaps the city's most admired (former) administrative, Colleen Barrett. Colleen Barrett, President Emeritus of Southwest Airlines and Herb Kelleher's former administrative assistant (founder of Southwest Airlines), rose from legal secretary to President and COO of Southwest Airlines over the course of three decades and is a passionate supporter of this event.

Anyone that has experienced the exceptional work product of an administrative professional is encouraged to acknowledge that administrative and nominate them for one or more of the 8 awards. Nominations will be accepted online until August 1, 2012.
